How It Works ( The Student Rental Program)

Welcome New GCU,  & or ASU or similar Phoenix College, Students and E-Scooter clients!  This is Scooter Operations “How it Works page.” for our Student Rental Program.

A $100 Dollar Deposit/Retainer insures your e-scooter and U-Lock with key for the semester.  You will get this $100 back after you return the e-scooter and U-Lock to ScooterOps after the semester. 

The Subscription Service is then $125 per month.  This covers all flat tires, and other maintenance that might occur during your rental period.*

If your e-scooter breaks, you will contact us and we will trade your broken e-scooter with a fully functional e-scooter to replace it within 48 hours.  This minimizes down time during your rental period when you get a flat tire or similar break.

When you go to class you remove the battery from the e-scooter and use the U-Lock to lock it to an immovable steel-to-concrete apparatus like a pole or bicycle rack.

In order to SIGN UP you must agree to the Rental and Safety Agreement and secure your deposit of $100.  Fill out the form at the bottom of this page.  This will initiate the back-and-forth email chain with us and you with which we will send over the e-contract for you to sign and pay with credit card.  Thank you.

FAQ’s

1. *How come I don’t just BUY an e-Scooter for my son or daughter attending GCU for less than the total cost to rent?— Well this is up to you, the consumer, you are welcome to buy an E-Scooter but we know first hand that e-scooters break often AND are difficult to repair. The Student Rental Program is thus OUR SERVICE – that WE PROVIDE ALL MAINTENANCE FOR THE RENTAL PERIOD (TYPICALLY ONE SEMESTER) and  This is why the subscription service is $125/monthly on top.  We also provide a U-Lock.  We also Take the Scooter back after the semester, Something that goes under the radar as they are big clunky objects that we think you don’t necessarily want to own.
2. HOW FAST and HOW FAR do your e-scooters go?  Our e-scooters go up to 20mph and travel 13 miles per charge at the fastest setting. 
3. Which e-scooter is provided on the rental?  The e-scooter we provide is the Turboant Max7 Pro Equivalent.   We like this scooter because it has pneumatic tires and a large battery output and it only weighs 40 lbs. and is foldable and has good brakes..
4. What is the weight capacity?  The weight capacity is 275 lbs.
5. What about Helmets?  We do not provide helmets, however we HIGHLY recommend using them .
